They arrived in their hundreds, revving their engines and honking their horns in memory of three special and popular teenagers who were taken far too soon.

After the devastating news that Dominic O’Neill, Kyle Warren and Billy Hines had been killed in the crash in Tivetshall Road, Pulham Market at 11.45pm on Wednesday, their friends began to rally round to support the families in the most incredible way possible.

Billy’s parents Jason and Mandy were inundated with visitors who, as a mark of respect, spent the next four days finishing off the adaptations that Billy had been making to the black Volkswagen Polo he had planned to learn to drive in.

And after 19-year-old Max Dixon spent four hours polishing it so the vehicle looked spick and span, they took it to Morrisons in Diss at 5pm on Sunday - where they were met by hundreds of the teenagers’ friends, who had all arrived in their cars, lorries and vans to pay their respects.

After spending about an hour sharing happy memories of the three boys, signing a canvas with their messages of tribute and shedding some tears, they travelled in convoy in their vehicles along the A143 to Great Yarmouth, sounding their horns and revving their engines as they went.

Both Billy’s and Kyle’s families, who both attended the event, were bowled over by the sea of people who had come to remember the boys.

“It shows how well-loved he was,” said Mrs Hines of her 16-year-old son.

“They all wanted to do to do something for Billy. Their support has kept us going.”

Daniel Warren, 37, Kyle’s father, added: “You can see what sort of kids they were by how many people are here.

“Kyle is looking down on us and seeing this all - and I’m sure he is ecstatic to see the turn-out.”

“Billy was well-respected within the community - that’s why we’re all here.”

Mr Hines added: “No-one ever said they didn’t like Billy.”
