A King's Lynn school has launched a pop-up library in its playground for the community to swap and share books.

Howard Junior School has opened its Pop-up Free Little Library, which it hopes will catch on at other Norfolk schools.

It will stock the library, which will be based in its playground, with good quality community donations.

The school said it would be kept freshly stocked and up to date, relevant for all ages and would be free to use for the school community.

Headteacher Greg Hill said, with school budgets tight, it could be difficult for leaders to afford new books for their libraries, but that the new system could help overcome those issues.

In the past on World Book Day, the school has sent out a Batman out on the streets of King's Lynn to hand out free books to forge links with the community.
