Heavy showers hit Norfolk this afternoon, with streets in Norwich and Great Yarmouth flooded.

The torrential downpours have been interchangeable with sunshine - but forecasters have confirmed that the rain will clear by late afternoon.

Duty forecaster Steve Western at Weatherquest said today’s “unsettled” weather is the last we will see in Norwich for a while.

He said over the weekend we will have “fine, dry and bright” days, with highs of 24 degrees.

The showers are expected to fade away this evening, but east and north Norfolk could see some showers tonight.

Rain is also expected tomorrow evening on the north Norfolk coast, but the rest of the county should have a more settled weekend.
