Motorists in Norfolk have had a close up view of a hot air balloon coming down to land.
At around 7.30am on Friday, May 4, a hot air balloon which had set off from Old Buckenham Airfield just an hour beforehand was seen landing on the edge of a field near Mulbarton.
The distinctive red balloon was spotted by several people and caused traffic to come to a halt.
Directed by air currents as opposed to being steered in the traditional sense hot air balloons travel where ever the wind takes them.
A spokesperson for Virgin Balloon Flights said: 'Our highly skilled pilot, who has been flying hot air balloons in Norfolk for more than 25 years, was in full control at all times and all of his 16 passengers had a wonderful flight.
'Ballooning is fully weather dependent, our pilots will expertly assess specialist weather forecasts a few hours before any flight, in order to establish whether or not it is safe to fly.'
