Hospice benefits from Thetford organisation’s fundraising
A bereavement service for children and young people has been boosted after the generous fundraising efforts of an organisation.
The Thetford (Breckland) Lionesses have showed their support for St Nicholas Hospice Care, in Bury St Edmunds, after donating £1,000 to Nicky’s Way.
The six-week programme gives children and young people the chance to share their worries, fears, hopes and feelings and ask questions alongside others in the same situation.
The groups are run by staff and trained volunteers from the hospice’s family support team and are open to any youngster who lives in Thetford or west Suffolk and has been bereaved, whether connected to the hospice or not.
Miranda McCoy, hospice community fundraiser, said: “I’d like to thank the Lionesses for their donation, and for once again welcoming me along to see them. We are so grateful for their continued support.”
