A Harleston group has been honoured for the work it does to tackle the problem of loneliness in the community.
Harleston Information Plus received ‘In Good Company’ approval marks from Norfolk County Council chairman, John Ward, along with 20 other groups from across the county.
The Harleston group was one of seven given ‘Plus’ marks for going above and beyond the normal scope of their work.
Wendy Thomson, the council’s managing director, said: “Our In Good Company campaign is designed to combat loneliness by galvanising individuals and organisations to do as much as they can to ensure no one spends a lonely day in Norfolk if they don’t want to.”
Harleston Information Plus is a charity which helps connect the community, providing services and support to more than 6,500 people each year.
They rely on the help of a team of about 40 volunteers.
