A 41 year old man and 35 year old woman arrested yesterday by detectives at an address in Cobholm, near Great Yarmouth, on suspicion of assisting an offender, have been bailed pending further enquiries.

A 17 year old male arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder remains in police custody under a warrant of further detention.

Five other youths, aged from 15 to 18, arrested on suspicion of murder following Mr Barrett’s death have been released on bail.

Mr Barrett was at a party in the Glebe when he was fatally stabbed at about 11.25pm on Saturday.

DCI Paul Durham, leading the investigation, is urging teenagers who were at the party but have not spoken out to contact police anonymously if they are nervous about coming forward.

He said: “We’ve had an encouraging response from the party guests but I’ve got no doubt there are still people out there who haven’t told us everything they know.”

Searches for the weapon that killed Mr Barrett, believed to be a knife or similar sharp-bladed instrument, are today ongoing in Hemsby, alongside further house-to-house enquiries.

To give information to police call 101. To pass information on to officers anonymously call the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555111.
