Staff numbers at Oaklands care home in Scole, near Diss, will increase from 27 to at least 45 following the work by owner Kingsley healthcare on the 25 bed extension.

The grade II listed care home, bought by Kingsley Healthcare in 2006, has 28 residents, including those with a dementia.

Situated in parkland, residents, who range in age from late 70s to 103, have access to in-house holistic therapist offering treatments such as aromatherapy and a variety of therapeutic treatments.

Daya Thayan, chief executive of Kingsley Healthcare, said: “We really want to make a difference to the lives of the people we care for. With this in mind we have built the extension to the highest specifications, giving particular consideration to making the design and layout suitable for people living with a dementia.”
