Update: Complaint made against founder of Norfolk cancer charity

A Norfolk doctor who founded a cancer support charity has had conditions imposed on his ability to practise after a complaint was made against him.
Dr Henry Mannings formed the Star Throwers charity three years ago to help and support people with cancer and their families.
But the doctor had conditions imposed on his NHS registration for 18 months when an Interim Orders Panel of the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Services considered a complaint made against him.
The complaint relates to the alleged treatment that Dr Mannings provides for Star Throwers.
The panel, which met in Manchester today, opted not to suspend him whilst the General Medical Council investigate the complaint. Details of the conditions on his registration are set to be made public tomorrow and the panel will review their decision in six months.
The Star Throwers independent advice, therapy, and drop-in centre in Melton Road, Wymondham, was established in early 2010.
Dr Mannings, an oncology specialist, established the charity in frustration at the lack of support for people living with cancer. He began offering advice to patients in his own home five years ago and created the dedicated centre when the Windmill Surgery in Wymondham relocated.
