The mental health trust for Norfolk and Suffolk has confirmed the start date of its new chief executive.

Michael Scott, who is currently chief executive at Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust and has more than 30 years leadership experience in the NHS, will start at Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust on May 27.

Gary Page, chairman of the mental health trust, said: “Michael will be starting at a challenging time for the trust, when we must ensure that we provide safe and effective service for our service users in this difficult financial environment. We also need to rebuild the trust and confidence of our staff by improving staff engagement and listening to what they tell us. These will be two of his most important priorities.”

Mr Scott said: “I am delighted to be starting at last with the trust and look forward to getting out and about and meeting as many people as possible in my first few weeks.”
