I want to complain about this content:

  • Lost count now of the young women I have heard of being told to go home or told not to go into the maternity unit until their labour is far too advanced to be safe. Someone has changed the point at which mothers are invited in to units in an attempt to cover up a bed shortage all over the eastern region, Huntingdonshire, Cambridgeshire Suffolk and Norfolk .There should be enough slack in a maternity ward for any woman in labour to be there for more than just a few hours before an imminent delivery. The bad advice being given here risked the lives of this girl and her baby. Compare that with the money wasted on the NHS offering homeopathy, smoking cessation and all sorts of money wasted in frills . This young couple should be demanding an inquiry not saying the midwives were brilliant, because someone obviously made a bad call. The standard of admission to midwife degree courses seems to be very low, and midwives no longer have to be general nurses first. Maternity services are as bad as the ambulance service but because most women only have two children they don't realise how badly they are being let down-they think the treatment they get is accidental or rare or their fault rather than being routine and based on penny pinching. Let's instead pinch the heart surgery pennies for fat old men who have smoked all their lives.
