A Norfolk hospital's wheelchair appeal rolls on at pace with more than £17,000 raised.

Funds raised in the Wheely Big Appeal has enabled the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, in King's Lynn, to purchase 20 of the 30 chairs needed.

Funds for the latest two chairs (£1,600) have been donated by the Priory Rotary Club of King's Lynn, who have raised the money throughout the year.

The club donated £800 which was then matched by their own charity, the Rotary Foundation.

Ken Banks, president of Priory Rotary Club, said: 'It's always great to support our local community and this is a great cause. I tried one of the chairs out and they are very comfortable, it felt like the Rolls Royce of wheelchairs.'

With 10 further chairs still required there is still time to offer your support to the appeal by visiting the JustGiving page: www.justgiving.com/fundraising/qehkl-wheelybigappeal.
