As part of National Heart Month, the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital nurses will be in Chapelfield to answer questions on heart health and to demonstrate how the organ works.

They will let people handle medical devices, such as pacemakers and the stents used to expand blocked blood vessels in the heart.

Information will be available on how to keep your heart healthy and manage heart health following a heart attack.

It will include advice on exercise, coping with stress, stopping smoking, and an explanation of the tests and procedures used by hospitals.

Anna Dugdale, chief executive at the N&N, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Chapelfield to support our patients and their families.

Getting the right information to manage your health is vitally important and these events will help us to reach patients in another setting outside the hospital.”

Chapelfield’s general manager Davina Tanner said: “We are very passionate about our partnership with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

“Chapelfield is committed to supporting the local community and having these events in the centre makes them very accessible. It’s a great way to raise awareness of health issues amongst our shoppers.”

The nurses will be on the lower ground floor of Chapelfield from 9am to 6pm on Tuesday.
