Sheringham Dementia Friendly Community (DFC) group has teamed up with a local fitness company to launch healthy lifestyle sessions for people with memory loss and their carers.

DFC volunteers will be working alongside instructors from North North Coastal Fitness to offer a programme of gentle, chair-based exercise, as well as memory related games and activities during the sessions, which will run weekly from 12.30pm-1pm at the Lighthouse Church, Sheringham, from September 13.

Representatives from Alzheimers UK will be offering advice and support once every three weeks, with those taking part also invited to stay for lunch at the church café.

Sheringham DFC secretary Liz Withington said the sessions aimed to provide exercise and social activities in a supportive environment.

Sheringham Dementia Friendly community will also hosting dementia awareness courses for local businesses, organisations, social and community groups at Sheringham Salvation Army hall, Cremer Street on September 26 from 5.30pm-8.30pm and on October 3rd from 1pm-4pm.
