A Norwich mum spoke of her delight after raising more than £4,000 for a hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
Zumba fitness instructor Sarah Chow pledged to support the unit at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital after her son Alfie was born 16 weeks early in March last year, weighing 1lb 9oz.
More than 200 women took part in a Zumbathon at the Talk, in Oak Street, Norwich, on Friday to support the hospital.
Miss Chow said she was amazed when the event raised more than £4,000 for NICU.
Her son is now a happy, healthy toddler after spending the first 93 days of his life under the expert care of the doctors and nurses at the N&N.
Thirteen Zumba instructors were involved in the fundraiser.
The 35-year-old, of Tuckswood, said: “It [the Zumbathon] was brilliant and can’t believe we have raised over £4,000. I wanted to give something back as I can’t thank them enough for all their help - they work miracles. They don’t have all the funding needed and rely on charity to support equipment.”
