The owners of a Thorpe St Andrew care home which is being closely watched by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has insisted there is nothing suspicious about a change of management at the home.

Bondcare, the parent company of Larchwood Nursing and Residential Home, in Yarmouth Road, insist the home’s manager has left due to a change of job.

An inspection from the CQC in February found Larchwood was not meeting essential standards and Norfolk County Council said management voluntarily agreed not to take in any new admissions until the issues were resolved.

A spokesman for the home said: “A great deal of hard work has taken place at the home, by a fully committed staff team, to implement sustainable improvements.

“We continue to work closely with the CQC, PCT and local authority and are confident that the home will be accepting new residents in the near future.”
