Mark Jeffries takes over the role until a permanent chair is appointed. It follows the resignation of David Prior who is the new chairman of the Care Quality Commission.

Mr Jeffries is the senior partner of Mills & Reeve, a national law firm with offices in Norwich and across the country. He has been a non-executive director at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for the last 12 months and will assume the role of interim chair from next month.

He said: “I know how committed and dedicated the hospital staff are to providing the best possible care, environment and quality outcomes for patients. I look forward to getting to know more of the staff over the next few months. David has worked tirelessly for the Trust and set a very high standard for his successor to achieve.”
