Breath tests, blood tests and BMI tests were carried out in the Forum as part of a Healthier Fair showing people the range of NCH&C’s services.

Stalls showed people how to find out their “lung age” to be aware of chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) and take part in a clean hands demonstration, showing effective hand-cleaning techniques.

Trust staff were also on hand at the fair, which was opened by Lord Mayor Ralph Gayton, to offer advice on everything from speech therapy to healthcare for the homeless, and refer people on to further services.

  • That's all very well , however when I try to get an appointment to see my G.P. I fail miserably. When I am finally able to speak to a receptionist(usually following 30-40 mins. of engaged tone) I'm told that nothings available today & I can't have an appointment for later in the week. I'm then asked to repeat the same hopeless process the following day. I usually just give up.
