Durrants raised £5,000 for the hospital’s Targeted Radiotherapy Appeal through a charity valuation day and online auction.

Rebecca Mayhew, auction house manager, who is undergoing treatment for breast cancer, and Nick Durrant, Durrants director, presented the cheque to hospital chairman John Fry today.

The NHS trust has passed the halfway mark of its £600,000 appeal to provide more brachytherapy treatments for cancer patients.

Mr Fry said: “It is wonderful that local businesses support the appeal, money raised is spent locally and will benefit the local population and we are very grateful to Durrants for getting behind our appeal and helping to raise its profile.”

Mr Durrant added: “As a local company we wanted to help provide these additional facilities which will make a difference to local cancer patients in Norfolk and Waveney, especially as my colleague has recently received treatment for cancer at the hospital.”
