The fire service helped remove an unconscious woman from a house.

The woman was found inside an home in Fastolff Avenue, Gorleston on Monday morning.

Crews from Gorleston and Great Yarmouth and the Urban Search and Rescue team were called just after 9am.

They assisted the ambulance service with the removal of the casualty from the house and they were on the scene for nearly two hours.

An eyewitness described seeing the fire service removing a woman from the address.

The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) dispatched a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance crew and ambulance officer to the scene as well as the Hazardous Area Response Team.

The first vehicle reached the scene within eight minutes of being called after 8.30am.

It is believed that the woman, who was found unconscious but breathing, was taken to the James Paget University Hospital in a stable condition.
