Shoppers in Norwich this week will be able to find out about the many different volunteering opportunities available at a hospital.
The Voluntary Service Team from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital will be at Chapelfield from 9am to 8pm on Thursday, June 7, as part of the celebrations for Volunteers’ Week.
To mark the week, high level bosses at the hospital have also been taking time out to spend time with volunteers and lend a hand.
Chief executive Anna Dugdale volunteered on Knapton Ward, spending time with patients who need help at meal times.
Sally Knights, voluntary services manager at the N&N said: “We have over 600 volunteers working in many different roles such as meeting and greeting, supporting patients at meal times, collecting patient views about their care and many other roles which enhance the patient’s experience in our hospital.”
The awareness week is designed to raise the profile of the millions of volunteers who regularly contribute to society, while inspiring others to get involved too.
