Baby loss services at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) will be an opportunity for parents who have suffered miscarriage or baby loss to remember their loved one.
Two services will take place today, November 4. The first service is at 4pm and is preceded with activities for children from 3pm in front of the Benjamin Gooch Lecture Theatre, level 1, east atrium at NNUH.
The second service is at 6pm and is a quiet reflective time in the lecture theatre. Everyone is welcome. There is no need to book.
Eleanor Langan, NNUH chaplain, said: 'Every year at this time, parents who have suffered baby loss gather at the NNUH. Some of them have come every year for 20 years and for others it is a more recent event. Each loss is unique and tragic for those involved. Some have gone on to have another baby but this does not take the pain away of the child who was lost. Yet though this is a sad service in some ways it is also positive because it gives the parents an opportunity to remember their baby.
'This year we have the theme of leaves and in the afternoon there will be craft events for the children and there will be a happy buzz before the simple service in the Benjamin Gooch hall. In the evening service at 6pm there is an opportunity to light candles.'
