Adults with learning disabilities in Cromer can put their questions on national and local budget cuts to MP Norman Lamb at a special event.

The North Norfolk MP will be with members of Opening Doors, the Norfolk-based self-advocacy organisation for people with learning disabilities,

between 1.30pm and 2.30pm on Friday, March 9 at Merchants Place.

Opening Doors runs self-advocacy group in Diss, Norwich and Cromer where adults with learning disabilities are in charge, making decisions about how the groups run and what topics are discussed.

Cromer self-advocates began looking at issues relating to politics and how this affected their daily lives two years ago when they hosted an event to teach people about elections.

Member Ian Winterbone said: “Norman really cares about people and will listen properly to people like us. People have lots they want to say and questions to ask. I think it will be a good event.”
