Happisburgh lifeboat was called into action this afternoon to a teenager drifting out to sea on a surfboard.
The teen’s family raised the alarm at 3.50pm after he got blown out to sea by the offshore wind.
Helmsman Tim Grimmer and a crew of Cubitt Siely and Charlotte Siely launched the Spirit of Berkhamsted and they were on their way to the scene by 4pm.
However, the teen was able to make his own way ashore and the crew were stood down by the coastguard.
But they carried on to the scene as they were so close and went ashore to give the teen and his family some advice on the dangers of offshore winds.
The lifeboat then returned to station and was ready for service at 4.35pm.
