The all-singing all-dancing show Guys and Dolls is among the latest line-up announced by Norwich Theatre Royal.

Full of high stakes and musical hits, the Broadway classic tells the story of gambler Nathan Detroit who is running out of money while his fiancée Miss Adelaide is running out of patience as she waits for them to get married. Among the show’s best known songs are My Time Of Day, Luck Be A Lady, and Sit Down You’re Rocking The Boat.

The production by Chichester Festival Theatre – which previously brought Singin’ In The Rain and Barnum to Norwich – is heading to the city next May following a run in London’s West End.

Judy Foster, from Norwich Theatre Royal, said: “To have a smash hit musical like the high energy Guys and Dolls here is an exciting prospect for our audiences, and we are delighted to be offering some superb shorter runs and one-night shows with top class comedy, music and dance treats, while families with little ones will enjoy Bear Behaving Badly and the chance to introduce their children to ballet with English National Ballet’s Sleeping Beauty.”

New Jersey Nights – a celebration of the music of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons – is returning in February and The English National Ballet School will be entertaining youngsters in April with a production of My First Ballet: Sleeping Beauty.

Meanwhile an eclectic mix of one-night shows has been announced.

Comedian Sean Lock will be entertaining people with his quirky take on life when he brings his new stand-up show to Norwich on March 13.

Ireland’s Call, a new musical adaptation of the show Essence of Ireland which features songs such as Galway Girl, Tell Me Ma and Irish Rover, arrives on March 27.

CBBC’s show Bear Behaving Badly is taking to the stage with The Jam Sandwiches and Ice Cream Tour. The show is aimed at four to 12-year-olds and is on March 28.

Classical singer Russell Watson will perform a mix of music including tracks from his new album when he returns to the city on April 10.

Comedian Julian Clary will be celebrating three decades of tickling the nation’s funny bone with new show The Joy Of Mincing on April 17.

The Solid Silver 60s Show will celebrate the golden age of pop music on May 11. Leading The Solid Silver 60s Show line-up will be Herman’s Hermits front-man Peter Noone who is known for hits including There’s A Kind Of Hush.
