Green-fingered Fred Woolston is throwing open his garden gate in aid of Stalham’s Poppy Centre.

Mr Woolston, winner of this year’s Stalham in Bloom best-kept garden prize, is inviting the public in to admire his handiwork on bank holiday Monday, August 25, from 10am-3pm.

There will also be a barbecue, cake stall, refreshments, hook a duck, wrought-iron work, a raffle, bowling for a pig, and other stalls.

Entry is free but donations would be welcome for the Poppy Centre, a near-complete community building on the town’s recreation ground which will be used by uniformed youth organisations and others.

Mr Woolston’s address is 27 St Mary’s Road, off Campingfield Lane. Visitors are warned that parking in St Mary’s Road is limited and are advised to leave their vehicles elsewhere and walk.
