More Santa’s this week pledged their support for Great Yarmouth’s first ever Santa run in Great Yarmouth.
EAST Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is staging the event on December 9 with the town’s Marina Centre lending its support.
The fundraising event starts at 11am and will see people dressed in Santa suits running, jogging or walking the one-mile course along the seafront from the Wellington Pier and back.
A gym instructor from Marina Leisure and Fitness Centre will lead the warm-up, complete the mile route and get everyone in festive spirits.
The centre is also displaying entry forms and encouraging customers to get involved.
EACH runs three hospices, Quidenham in Norfolk, Milton in Cambridgeshire and Ipswich in Suffolk, providing care and support to life-threatened children and their families.
Lee Drewery, gym manager, said: “We’re delighted to support EACH, not only by leading the warm up, but also by displaying entry forms and encouraging our customers to take part. I’m really looking forward to seeing plenty of Santas on the route which goes right round the Marina Centre itself.”
The run is supported by the Comfort Hotel. Entry is £10 for over 14s, including a Santa suit, or £8 without a suit, and £5 for children, including a Santa hat. To sign up, visit www.each.org/santaruns or call the Norfolk fundraising team on 01953 715559.
