Christian Rodbourne, of Regent Road, was sentenced to two years in prison at Ipswich Crown Court today (Tuesday). He was also placed on the sex offenders register for ten years.

Rodbourne was found guilty of sexual assault by a jury in July.

The charges related to an incident during the early hours of July 24, 2011 at an address in Yarmouth, when Rodbourne assaulted the victim after a night out.

Detective Constable Kevin Maskell from Norfolk police said: “This was an extremely traumatic ordeal for the victim who has shown great courage in coming forward and reporting the incident to the police.

“The victim should also be praised for the bravery she has shown throughout the court case during which she had to relive her ordeal.

“We hope such a result will encourage other victims of violence and serious sexual assault to contact us.”
