The new mayor of the borough of Great Yarmouth, Mary Coleman, has started off her special year in the ceremonial role by leading a day-long civic tour of the borough.
During the trip last Friday, she was accompanied by Charles Watt, the High Sheriff of Norfolk, Henry Cator, the High Steward of Great Yarmouth, and Cllr Barry Coleman, the mayor’s consort.
Starting off at the Town Hall, they stopped off and met with people at four locations: the Outer Harbour, 4 Women (at DIAL), Caister Golf Club and Sunbeams Play.
Mrs Coleman, who was officially elected as mayor last week, said: “The mayor’s role is to help represent and promote the borough, its communities, businesses and other facilities. This tour was a great opportunity to get that underway and to welcome the new High Sheriff.
“During my year I intend to visit many different groups and businesses to celebrate and raise awareness of their marvellous work.”
