A former Canary will go up against an ex-professional boxer after losing a Twitter challenge to Grant Holt.
Norwich’s number nine was challenged by Paul McVeigh to reach 22,000 followers on the social networking site by Thursday.
If he failed to hit the target, Holt would have to donate to Children in Need, but if he succeeded the club’s former attacker would face retired boxer Jackson Williams in the ring for one round.
By Friday morning the striker had more than 23,000 followers on Twitter meaning McVeigh, who is now a sports presenter on TV and radio, has to go up for a round against Williams.
Holt’s number of followers shot up from just under 13,000 earlier in the week.
McVeigh will now have to face Williams within the next fortnight and the round will be refereed by Darren Huckerby.
Announcing he had won the challenge, Holt tweeted: “Thank you people can not wait thanx for all your help people everyone who has followed me and helped.”
