A 24-year-old man from Great Yarmouth has been jailed for eight months for drugs offences.
Steve Assani, of Magnolia Green, Gorleston, appeared at Norwich Crown Court last Thursday (October 10), to be sentenced after pleading guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply and being concerned in making an offer to supply the class B drug at a previous address in Nelson Road North, Great Yarmouth.
Police in the town had carried out a warrant at his home in Nelson Road North on February 19 and recovered cash and drugs totalling over £6,800.
Officers acted after receiving information of possible drug dealing and associated issues at the property.
Despite initially giving a ‘no comment’ interview, Assani was subsequently charged along with Mia-leigh Potter, 23, of Perebrown Avenue in Yarmouth, who was also at the address at the time.
Potter pleaded guilty to being concerned in making an offer to supply cannabis and was also sentenced on Thursday at Norwich Crown Court.
She was given a community order and told she must complete 200 hours of unpaid work, while Assani was jailed for eight months and the forfeiture of the seized drugs and cash was ordered.
