The Great Yarmouth and Gorleston branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution is holding an open recruitment day for prospective shop volunteers.

On Sunday, April 22, people are invited to have a chat with other volunteers on how they could help the RNLI charity and learn about the work they do both locally and nationally.

From 10am on the same day, the lifeboat’s Pop Up Hub, which is close to the yacht pond on Gorleston promenade will be open. It enables people to look around and, if they would like a new challenge, a chance to sign up to help the lifeboat’s service.

The RNLI shop on Riverside Road, Gorleston, has had a refurbish and refit and sells lifeboat memorabilia, keepsakes and much more – and helps raise money to save lives at sea as well as inshore. The two active lifeboats are the offshore Samarbeta and in the inshore Seahorse IV.
