Glitz, glamour and cabaret fun as the Adnams Spiegeltent returns to Norwich

The glitz, glamour and cabaret fun of the Adnams Spiegeltent is back once again for this year’s Norfolk and Norwich Festival.
The colourful Salon Perdu tent sprung up in Norwich’s Chapelfield Gardens at the weekend and hosts its first event - the Literary Death Match - tonight. From Friday it will be open every day of the festival with a packed programme of shows.
Die Roten Punkte, described as the prince and princess of the Berlin underground indie rock and Europop scene, are first on the line-up on Friday night followed by the Bo Nanafana Social Club’s opening Spiegel-Late show, Bojangles. Other acts throughout the festival range from sequinned satirists Bourgeois and Maurice with their alternative cabaret show to the fiery six-piece band Molotov Jukebox with their genre-blending music.
Sally Christopher, Adnams Spiegeltent general manager, said: “We are all very excited to be here. A huge amount is happening inside the tent and outside in the Spiegeltent Gardens too. We are back, bigger and better than ever, and want everyone to join in and have some fun!”
As well as the night-time shows, the tent will be in full swing during the day this weekend with family film mornings and Ragroof tea dances. Next weekend Baby Disco Dance Hall returns on Saturday and local acts take to the Adnams Spiegeltent stage on Sunday.
There is a Spiegeltent Gardens bar open to both those with and without Spiegeltent tickets and also serving food.
There will also be a free show - Grime by Ramshacklicious - in the Spiegeltent Gardens at 8.40pm this Saturday and Sunday.
The Spiegeltent Gardens will be open midday until late this weekend and next, and Monday to Friday next week 12pm-2.30pm and in the evening from 5pm.
