It’s the feelgood event which for many signals the start of the festive season, warming up even the chilliest of winter nights.
Tickets are now on sale for the EDP’s Festival of Carols next month which, as ever, will be jam-packed with everyone’s favourite Christmas tunes.
The event, expected to be a sell-out, will be held at St Andrew’s Hall in Norwich on December 5 and all proceeds will go to the EDP’s We Care Appeal, which supports unpaid – and often unacknowledged – carers of all ages. This year’s host will be David Clayton, editor of BBC Radio Norfolk, and the station will broadcast the carols service on Christmas Day.
Nigel Pickover, editor-in-chief of the EDP and Norwich Evening News, said: “The EDP’s Festival of Carols marks the start of the Christmas celebrations for a lot of people, and this year’s is set to be as inspiring and uplifting as ever.
“The event is well established in our county’s festive calendar, and brings together the EDP family for a joyful start to the Christmas season.”
The audience will be treated to performances by the Broadland Youth Choir and the EDP Festival Choir, formed for the concert each year under the stewardship of musical director Carole Tims. Festival favourites Cawston Brass Band and organist Alan Morris will also join them.
Tickets are £9 each. Doors open at 6.45pm for a 7.30pm start. Call 01603 772401 if you have special seating requirements. Tickets are available from the EDP office at Prospect House; by post (write to EDP Festival of Carols, Front Office, Prospect House, Rouen Road, Norwich, NR1 1RE) with a cheque made payable to Archant Norfolk Limited – remember to include your name, address, and a telephone number or email address.
