Two friends have set off on a 96-mile charity walk dressed as a crab and a lobster in the hope of raising £15,000.
Diane Wheeler, an electrical engineer at Parker Hannifin in Thetford, and Nicola Smith, from Yorkshire, are walking the Peddars Way and Norfolk coast path from Thetford to Cromer for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) nook appeal.
The pair set off on Monday morning with the aim of arriving at Cromer on May 17, in time for the Cromer and Sheringham Crab and Lobster Festival.
Ms Wheeler said her inspiration came from colleague Rod King and his wife Catherine, whose daughter Eden has a condition called Ullrich Congenital Muscular Dystrophy and receives care and support from EACH.
She said: 'Rod, Catherine and Eden King have lived with the vital supportive care that the Quidenham Hospice can provide.
'It's for this reason that when I heard about the nook appeal launched by the Duchess of Cambridge, it seemed 'right' to try and help raise some of the money to build the nook, which will provide the love, care and respite that all families in similar situations to Rod, Catherine and Eden deserve and need.'
Mr King said: 'I'm so pleased Diane and Nicola have been inspired to raise funds for the nook appeal and I hope their efforts inspire lots of donations which are vitally needed to build the nook.'
