Two people have taken to hospital after four vehicles were involved in a crash on the A11 near Elveden.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1.20pm after a HGV and three cars were involved in the collision.

Paramedic Officer, Scott Ballam, who attended the scene said: 'Two casualties were treated at the scene and a number of others were assessed. A man in his 40s was treated for potential spinal injuries and a woman for a minor head injury. Both were conveyed to West Suffolk Hospital for further treatment. Their conditions weren't thought to be life threatening.'

Four fire crews from Norfolk and Suffolk were also called to the scene.

One of the casualties had to be freed from a car and police closed the road until around 4.30pm.
