Former Gresham’s School student and television star Olivia Colman has scooped a prestigious award for two of her recent on-screen roles.

The 40-year-old actress took to the stage last night (Tuesday) at the Royal Television Society awards ceremony to receive one of the night’s biggest accolades - Best Female Actress.
She walked away with the award courtesy of her roles in ITV drama Broadchurch and Channel 4 show Run. She was favourite to scoop the award at London’s Grosvenor House.

Broadchurch was also in further contention in the category for Best Drama Serial and it claimed the award.

Elsewhere, former Cawston primary and Paston School student Stephen Fry, won the award for Best Presenter for the series Stephen Fry: Out There.

The programme saw Mr Fry travel to a number of countries to examine how they treated their gay communities.
