A group for people living with dementia have thanked the Dereham Town Council for providing their group with games and equipment.

Town mayor, Hilary Bushell, joined the Forget-Me-Not club on Thursday, September 21, and presented members with the donation on behalf of the council.

The Forget-Me-Not group is managed by a small group of volunteers.

The club exists for the benefit of people with dementia who are living in their own home, and their carers who bring them to the group.

It operates out of the Baptist Church, in the centre of Dereham, which offers on-site parking.

Monthly meetings offer a friendly and supportive environment to members, in the form of a drop-in café with coffee and cake on offer.

The club is open to anyone caring for a family member with dementia at home.

They meet every third Thursday of the month, at 10am to 11.45am.
