The Environment Agency has this afternoon issued the warning for the river, from Ellingham to Breydon Water, with particular problems suspected at Beccles Quay and between Beccles and Ellingham.

A spokesman said that a high tide was expected at Great Yarmouth at 9.27pm.

They said: “Flooding is expected at Beccles Quay and between Beccles and Ellingham. The flooding is caused by the combined effect of weekend rainfall draining down the river meeting a spring tide progressing up river.”
