A fitness instructor is hoping to get generous fund raisers in a spin to raise money for children’s charity East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).
Ellie Wharton, 31, from Stradbroke, is set to undertake a gruelling 12 hour Spinathon at Fit Club in Diss in aid of EACH, despite still being on maternity leave following the birth of her third child Zara, five months, in December.
And she is inviting other fund raising exercise fans to join her as the 12 hours equate to 12 spin classes with nine bikes in each class to fill.
That means there are 108 spaces in total to be taken and she is aiming to raise £540 by charging a £5 donation per bike per hour.
As well as Zara, Mrs Wharton also has four-year-old Leo and Jude, two, explaining this was the reason why she was supporting EACH, which supports families and cares for children and young people with life threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
She said: “I am thankful and lucky to have three happy and very healthy children, but for a lot of families they are not so lucky and a charity like EACH is vital to them, so it’s important to support these charites that do so much for families and children when they need it the most.”
However, as well as the money from the exercise fund raisers, she was also hoping to raise £120 through business donations and receive sponsorship money from family and friends to bring the total to her £800 target.
Mrs Wharton, who works for Fit Club, added: “I am very excited and really want to make as much money as possible.”
