First Buses has pledged to carry out a review of bus services in and out of Horsford after several problems were reported.

Horsford resident Jack Smith, of Angela Road, is a regular user of the purple line 36 service, has decided to make sure First are aware of regular problems with buses running late or not turning up.

Mr Smith, 65, a former parish councillor for the village, has sent several emails to First and wants action taken to improve the service.

He said: “The situation appears to be worsening and we cannot see this improving as we head towards Christmas. Those of us who start work early need to ensure that a reliable service runs.

“For my part continual lateness and failure to run a service can cause me to be late to work. My employer could use continual lateness as a disciplinary offence.

“My daughter and others having to get to college are arriving late and can easily mean they miss something important and is it right that their education suffers due to poor service? These issues have arisen since First changed all the routes (in September).”

A First spokesman said: “We are aware of punctuality issues on certain journeys on this service. We take issues with punctuality on any of our services very seriously and our local commercial team have been carrying out a post-implementation review of service 36.

“Timetable changes will be made where necessary to ensure the punctuality of this service is as good as it should be.”
