Crews from south Lowestoft and north Lowestoft fire stations were sent to the factory on Whapload Road after an automatic fire alarm sounded at 5.09am this morning (Monday).

A brigade spokesman said: “Crews found a fire in one of the fryers and requested an additional fire engine - a further appliance was therefore mobilised from north Lowestoft.

“At 5.50am this fire was extinguished and a foam blanket was applied over the fryer.”
