Fire crews attended a building fire in Norwich after a member of the public reported hearing an “explosion”.
Two appliances from Carrow and Earlham attended reports of a building fire off Gentleman’s Walk in the city at just after 7.50pm tonight.
A spokesman in the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service control room said a member of the public reported the sound of an “explosion” with “smoke issuing” but on arrival firefighters discovered it was caused by a ruptured air conditioning unit.
Crews left the scene at just before 8.20pm.
Police in Norwich have launched an investigation after a woman claimed in a tweet she had knocked a cyclist off their bike.
