Dereham firefighters have been called out for the third time in a week to help a black dog that got itself into a spot of bother.
A crew freed a black Labrador puppy that got one of its paws stuck in a wheelchair earlier this afternoon.
A fire service spokesman said the dog’s paw became jammed between two bars where they taper together.
He said firefighters, who arrived at the address in Macarthur Drive, Scarning, at 2.42pm, freed the puppy in a matter of minutes by simply lifting it up, and the animal was unharmed.
The rescue follows callouts to help two other dogs that fell into an icy pond at Hillcrest Avenue park in Toftwood.
Two-year-old black cocker spaniel Pippin fell through a hole after running onto the ice to eat bread that had been thrown for the birds. She was rescued before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters used a ladder to rescue a separate black cocker spaniel from the same pond three days later.
Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a garden pond today.

Would it be cheaper to fence the pond off?
