Firefighters were called to a building fire in Norwich.

One appliance from Sprowston, one from Earlham and one from Carrow attended a building fire on Long Row, off Waterloo Road, at about 2.35pm today.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus used main and hose reel jets supplemented by a hydrant to extinguish the fire while a thermal image camera was used to check for hot spots

A spokesman in the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service control room said there was no-one inside the building at the time of the fire.

Crews from Carrow, Earlham and Sprowston were also called to attend an incident yesterday, at 5.50pm, where there was a report of a pan left on the cooker inside a locked flat on Lefroy Road, off Bowers Avenue, Mile Cross.

A crew from Hethersett was also mobilised but the occupier of the flat managed to gain access to the flat and make the situation safe meaning that all crews were stood down.
