Firefighters have made a Fakenham town centre car park safe this morning following a fuel spill.

One appliance from Fakenham was called to the Miller’s Walk car park, near Argos, at 9.54am.

Darren Leach, crew manager for Fakenham, said: “A vehicle ran over a bit of metal and burst its fuel tank causing petrol to spill across part of the car park.

“Granules have been used to make the area safe and we have contacted the landlord of the car park to provide some sand.”
