A firefighter was left bemused tonight after being called to save a cat stuck behind a radiator - only to find that it had “self rescued” before he arrived.

The feline managed to free itself after becoming stuck at an address on Seymour Avenue in Great Yarmouth at around 5.35pm tonight.

But the fire service’s incident log reveals that the officer was “stood down from investigating” after it wriggled its way to safety.

  • Dont be silly Wes. The reporters are either too bone idle to get off their a...s'es and get news or they are too frightened to investigate the tory & labour councillors who have given jobs to their own and left UKIP out. What this paper needs is a new editor, not the one they have now, sacking the current useless reporters and getting some of the redundant reporters from TNOTW, who are not frightened. It is just like the reporting of the Chancel Liability fiasco. The reporter said it had given her a headache investigating that. She hardly scratched the surface. Absolutely useless.

  • Slow news day. Please can we have some really investigative news on all of the town councillors like what has happened in Whitby?
