Crews were called to the woods by Holkham beach, Beach Road in Wells and Fritton Woods, close to Great Yarmouth, after reports of a blaze.

A spokeswoman from the fire service said they were on moderate to high alert because of the dry ground and urged people enjoying the sunny weather to make sure their barbecues were out.

  • These are wise words. Take care with flammable materials whilst surrounded by other flammable material. These things need to be said.
