Crews from East Harling, Diss and Harleston helped fire crews from Suffolk at the incident in Potash Lane shortly before 8am.

A spokesman for Suffolk Fire Service said the fire was in the engine and had been put out before the arrival of the crews, who remained on scene until 8.18am to ensure the fire did not re-ignite.

He added there did not appear to have been any danger of the fuel igniting and no evacuation was required, though any fire in a fuel tanker would cause concern.
