An inspiring farmer’s daughter from Norfolk is urging more young people to get involved with a project filming “quirky” interviews promoting agriculture for the next generation.

Eliza Emmett, of Whitehouse Farm, Oxborough, near Swaffham, won a £1,000 prize in the Norfolk Farm Vets Aspire Farm Award 2014 for her scheme encouraging children to consider a career in food and farming.

Now the 21-year-old has recorded three different films and is urging more young people working in the industry to come forward to take part in their own documentary.

Speaking at the Royal Norfolk Show, she said: “My idea is to inspire to get young people into agriculture by making short, quirky films about where they are in the industry.”

Brought up on the family’s livestock farm, Miss Emmett’s father, Nick, runs a sheep flock, and mother, Susie, broadcasts on agriculture for the BBC World Service and is a film presenter.
